Benefits

As an employee of Renesas Electronics America, you receive more than a livelihood: you also receive a choice of benefit plans and extras for your distinctive life and lifestyle.

Savings and Retirement Program

Our savings and retirement program makes it easy to save for retirement. The company matches 50% of your pre-tax 401(k) and/or Roth 401(k) contributions, up to 5% of your salary. After one year of service, you qualify to receive an additional company base contribution equal to 5% of your salary.

Employee Bonus and Referral Programs

Our employee bonus program rewards your exceptional efforts with twice-yearly bonus payouts based on the company's profit level and your achievement of short-term incentive targets. Our employee referral program pays you a cash bonus whenever we hire someone you refer.

Educational Reimbursements

Educational reimbursements compensate you for expenses associated with career-related coursework.

Medical, Dental and Vision Care Plans

Our medical plan benefits include two PPO options and an HMO option in Northern California. Coverage for prescription drugs also is included.
Our dental plan offers the choice of dental PPO and basic dental coverage. Our vision care plan pays for examinations, lenses, and frames. You may choose to enroll in the higher vision benefit at a cost.

Life and Other Insurance

Our basic Life and AD&D insurance plans cover you for two times your annual salary not to exceed $500,000 for each plan. Supplemental life insurance for yourself, your spouse, and your dependent children is also available for purchase.
You may also purchase voluntary accidental death and dismemberment insurance coverage for yourself, and eligible family members. You have a choice of seven coverage levels, not to exceed ten times your annual base salary.
Long-term disability insurance provides financial security whenever illness or injury prevents you from working for more than 180 days. The plan combines with other disability benefits to pay up to 66% of your monthly base earnings until you return to work.

Long Term Care

You may purchase various benefit options for care received either at home or in a facility when someone needs assistance with activities of daily living, or suffers severe cognitive impairment. This benefit is available to employees and/or dependents.

Time Off

We know life is a juggling act. That's why Renesas Electronics America has a paid time-off program that provides employees with ample time off for vacation, sick time, and personal time. In addition, each employee receives twelve designated holidays per year. Employees are eligible for 40 hours of sick time per calendar year prorated for midyear hires. Vacation time is earned in hourly increments, based on years of service, and begins accumulating from day one of employment. Employees with 0 to five years of service receive 120 hours (15 days) of vacation; five to ten years of service receive 160 hours (20 days) vacation; and ten+ years of service receive 200 hours (25 days) vacation.
